Core Guarantee: NoorQuran is built with strict privacy principles. Your Quran bookmarks, reading progress, and personal notes are stored 100% locally on your personal device. We do not require accounts, logins, or cloud synchronization.
1. Information We Collect
NoorQuran does not operate external user account databases. We do not ask for or collect your name, email address, phone number, physical address, or biometric identifiers.
- On-Device Quran Reading & Bookmarks: Your saved Ayahs, Juz progress, and last read positions are saved directly in your device's sandboxed local storage (
noorquran_data.json). This data never leaves your device. - Audio Playback: Holy Quran recitations streamed from verified public Islamic audio content distribution networks (e.g. EveryAyah) are buffered ephemerally or cached locally for offline listening. No audio listening telemetry is transmitted to our servers.
2. Third-Party Services & Advertising (Google AdMob)
To support ongoing development of our free Islamic applications, NoorQuran integrates the official Google Mobile Ads SDK (Google AdMob).
Google AdMob may collect and process pseudonymous data in compliance with Google's Privacy Policy, including:
- Device identifiers (such as Google Advertising ID / IDFA) to serve relevant, non-intrusive ads.
- IP address (used to infer coarse regional location for appropriate localized advertising).
- Diagnostic data and ad interaction performance metrics.
Users can opt out of personalized advertising at any time through their device settings: Settings > Google > Ads > Reset or delete advertising ID.
3. Device Permissions Explained
- INTERNET & ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: Required for streaming Ayah-by-Ayah recitations by world-famous Qaris and loading AdMob ad units.
- VIBRATE: Used for tactile haptic feedback during UI interactions.
- FOREGROUND_SERVICE & MEDIA_PLAYBACK: Allows background Quran audio recitation while multitasking or when your screen is locked.
4. Children’s Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
NoorQuran is a spiritual and educational Quran learning application suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
5. Security of Your Data
Because all your Quran bookmarks and preferences remain on your device, your information is protected by your operating system’s native app sandboxing and security safeguards.
